SUMMARY:

As part of the ongoing Capital Improvement work by Facilities Management Corporation (FMC) in partnership with Massachusetts DCR (Department of Conservation and Recreation), CCA has had an opportunity to be involved with the renovations and upgrading of many ice skating rinks. These aging facilities needed to have an ongoing repair and improvement program, which is now maintained and funded by FMC. As such, CCA has been involved with the design work for the upgrades, which includes new entries with energy efficient and safety glazing systems as well as incorporating ADA requirements for easier access and entry. Additional work included design of mechanical supports, electrical upgrades, fire safety upgrades, bathroom modifications for accessibility, alterations for new team rooms, and modernized, user-friendly lobbies. Ongoing replacement of roofing, bleachers, skate flooring, dasher boards, in coordination with CCA, provides FMC’s facilities updated amenities for the public at large.
