Experienced Forensic Construction Consultant.

Construction Consultant with 15 years of experience for established forensic consulting firm.

CCA’s forensic engineering, architecture, and construction consulting business has opportunities for experienced forensic Construction Consultant to lead Construction related forensic practice for the coming decade plus.  CCA has offices in Burlington, Massachusetts, and New York City.  Prior forensic experience is a must.

CCA performs investigations of buildings and sites on behalf of building owners, insurance companies, and their attorneys.  CCA performs cause and origin studies, scope of damage analysis, and litigation support for buildings and construction problems, and related damages.  The candidate will have a passion for problem solving, learning new skills and expressing concepts in written and spoken word. The candidate needs to be experienced, technically strong and articulate.  The candidate must be able to and enthusiastically perform field investigations throughout the country.  The candidate must proactively assist our clients, develop relationships, maintain customer relationships, and generate business opportunities.

Ability to lead and be a member of a multi-disciplined team is necessary.  A strong interest and experience in construction processes, construction standard of care, contracts, contract documents, field quality assurance, field safety, estimating, remediation contracting, scheduling, and cost control are a must.  This individual will be expected to assist in and execute investigations of existing buildings and to price and schedule remedial repairs.

The candidate will be expected to present opinions in oral and written reports.  Excellent written and oral presentation skills are required.  The candidate needs to be able to testify as an expert witness in court.  Job success will depend on this skill.

Requirements:

  • Excellent skills in construction estimating.  Ability to use and explain standard processes for estimating.
  • Excellent skills in scheduling.  Thorough understanding of CPM schedules including advanced concepts.  Ability to use and explain standard processes for scheduling.
  • Demonstrated Construction Management experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering with demonstrated excellence, advanced degree desired
  • Candidate for future leadership at CCA
  • Construction related experience of 15 years
  • Forensic experience with deposition testimony a must
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage client relationships
  • Experienced and proficient in design and construction
  • Ability to travel
  • Physically able to spend long days in the field investigating buildings including roof tops of tall buildings and exterior investigation of building envelopes from lifts and ladders
  • Commitment to safety
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to develop client relationships
