Draftsperson Job Opportunity

 

CCA is looking for a self-motivated Draftsperson to work with our team of Architects and Engineers. If you have hands-on experience with AutoCad and Revit and a familiarity with design and construction processes, we would like to meet you.

Typical duties involve conversion of designs into drawings, production of graphics for use in technical reporting, and development of exhibits. Additionally, the position may involve compilation of drawings and specifications for bid packages, review of construction documents and administrative support relative to project management.

Familiarity with drafting standards is a must, and the candidate should be up to date with drafting software and advancements. Experience with Adobe PhotoShop and technical writing is a plus.

You will typically work at our offices, however, there will be occasional client/site visits. There is less than 10% travel required.

 

Responsibilities

• Liaise with architects and engineers to gather architectural/engineering considerations and utilize knowledge gained to develop designs.
• Create both rough sketches and detailed designs with AutoCad and Revit software.
• Preparing, reviewing, and redrafting as needed in working alongside the architectural/engineering team.
• Ensure final drawings comply with regulations and quality standards.
• Identifying and communicating potential design problems to the rest of the team.
• Design diagrams, maps, and layouts to support technical reporting.
• Assist in the compilation of bid packages.
• Develop exhibits for use in presentations.
• Review of plans and specifications to develop quantity take-offs, identify as-built conditions, etc.
• General support of project management efforts.

Requirements

• Five-year minimum, hands-on experience with AutoCad and Revit
• Ability to draw manually favorable, but not essential
• Ability to work well in a team and on your own
• Ability to respond well to criticism and maintain a positive attitude
• Good math skills
• Ability to meet deadlines consistently
• Additional certification from the American Design Drafting Association (ADDA) is a plus
