SUMMARY:
Amtrak Repair Facility prepared a proposal for the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) to operate and maintain a new Commuter Rail Maintenance Facility. In preparation for Amtrak’s proposal, CCA was retained to evaluate annual utility and maintenance costs associated with the operation of the facility. CCA identified elements of the building systems that could be improved to reduce energy use and provide savings of up to twenty percent.
