SUMMARY:

The Montesol Condominium complex in Puerto Rico, comprised of eighty units in four, five-story buildings. This complex suffered from a landslide, which resulted in the movement of buildings by feet. CCA was hired to investigate deficiencies in subsoil conditions, evaluate alleged construction defects, determine causes and origins of soil movement, and evaluate resultant damages. CCA determined that the landslide was initiated in deep-seated soil movement occurring over a period of fourteen months and that the site engineering team failed to meet the standard of care in their design as well as provide the necessary monitoring of the on-going construction work.
