SUMMARY:
The Simoni Skating Rink, located in Cambridge Massachusetts, needed to make repairs to its metal roof due to leaks, degradation, and to add insulation to increase the energy performance of the facility. CCA engineers designed the solution and prepared construction documents for the installation a new roof including; rigid insulation, PVC membrane, and snow guards. During the design CCA performed inspections to assess the structural condition and capacity of the roof, trusses, and structure to support the additional insulation, roofing, and the code prescribed snow load. CCA completed the project and continues to work with the client inspecting and upgrading additional skating arenas.
